RODS: Spare the RODS and spoil the under-waters!
Snap them on the lane line and tell the swimmers to streamline and kick under them on EVERY turn. They get reminded whenever they come up too soon. As the seasons and their fitness progresses, move them out progressively farther. Rods can be also used for starts and to time the turns to any point in the pool. Simple, useful tool.
For coaches:

•Set up different lanes with different distances. Breaststroke can be farther out (you might take off the bottom part if you have narrow lanes.
